Top 5 Mistakes Seller Make in Selling Their Timeshare
Nobody’s perfect. Everyone makes mistakes and that includes folks that sell their timeshare. While these people may have erred, they leave experience in their wake. From this, we can look at are common selling mistakes. Specifically, there are five very common mistakes people make. Let’s identify them so we can avoid them….
Trying to sell when you are out of your league. Owners that try to sell when they really don’t know how to sell undermine their own goals. People that know what they are doing are generally those who have a lot of experience. If you lack experience, you might want to stick with a broker. Brokers can bring much needed experience to the sale.
Unrealistic pricing. This is another common mistake novice sellers will make. They will affix a figure to a timeshare without accurately ascertaining value and current market prices. When a sale is overpriced, most consumers will ignore it. It is that simple. So, never make the tragic mistake of pricing yourself out of the market.
Lack of understanding their deed. There may be a number of clauses in the deed to a timeshare. In some cases, a
person may put up a property for sale when their contract actually forbids them from doing so! Always know what you own and understand your deeds and paperwork. This is critical!
Select the right venue to advertise. There is a multitude of different ways to advertise. Print media, electronic media, and even online auctions are helpful. However, it is important to select the advertising venue that is most beneficial to you. If not, your sale may trudge a lot slower than most would prefer.
Providing a poor presentation. If you are going to show the property, then it needs to be in the tip top shape. Showing a bunch of messy rooms will not be the best way to stimulate interest.
Again, these five mistakes are not the only mistakes people make. However, they are among the most common. Avoid making them whenever possible.
