Some timeshares have multiple selling seasons, while others have just one. Knowing the best season to sell your timeshares will allow you to get the most money for it from buyers who are looking in the market last minute.
The best timeshares to sell in the summer are those in the lower states and in countries with a lot of nearby beaches. Those taking vacation time in the summer will often want to have easy access to a beach for their whole vacation and will want timeshares in sunny locations.
List timeshares for the summer selling season before the summer starts. Early buyers will start looking as soon as February. If you start advertising your timeshares this early you will be able to take offers from early buyers and decide if you want to wait longer for a higher price.
If you have a limited amount of time to sell timeshares, you will want to start your price high and settle as early as possible when you get your first or second offer.
Starting with a high price will allow you to get offers that are reasonable from the start and will require less negotiation. But early in the season it will mean you will not get many offers if any.
When you are not in a rush to sell you should take your time and wait for a high offer. You are most likely to get a high offer close to the start of the summer, possibly in late June, at the latest.
Chances are there will be some buyers on the market in the spring. However there will not be as many. It is still better to get into the market and start selling early and to take your time looking at offers.
If you have a timeshare for skiing or otherwise best for the winter you should start selling in September. This is when you will have early buyers and you might get an offer you like early.
The latest offers you will get for the winter season will be in November or early December. These last minute buyers might be willing to pay more to secure a spot.
It is likely that your potential buyers will be looking at multiple timeshares at once. When they make an offer on your timeshare you need to be timely in deciding whether or not you will take the offer.
Waiting will usually mean a higher offer. However if you wait too long you might be risking turning down good buyers. If you have never sold a timeshare before you will often be able to see how much others sell their timeshares for to get an idea of what a reasonable offer is.
Starting with a high offer price and a reasonable settling price will usually allow you to have reasonable expectations when selling timeshares.
